Share with me your favorite books

October is National Book Month so I hope that everyone was able to pick up at least one book and read it this past month.
I'm a busy mom and struggle to find time to read, but I do try to read 26 books a year. That's a book every two weeks. I've been keeping track for the last 4 years. I have a little journal where I write down what I read, the author's name, a little blurb about the book, and what I thought about it (even giving it my own star rating).

I love to read over the holidays, so I need to stock up on my reading supplies now so I'll have enough to last me through the new year. Please tell me what your all-time favorite books are. I'm going to compile a list of your favorites and head to my library and bookstore to gear up.

To share with you my favorites...I'm reading Hunted right now by Clair M. Pulson, but some of my favorites this year have been:
Josi Kilpack's culinary mysteries. I was behind on this series and had to read them all starting with Lemon Tart.
John Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice series is awesome! I love YA adventure.
Dan well's I'm not a Serial Killer & Mr. Monster--I need to get the next one. Great thrillers.
I also enjoyed Dead on Arrival by Jeff Savage, If I Should Die by Jennie Hansen, and Murder by the Book by Betsy Brannon Green.
For romance I liked Kiss of a Stranger by Sarah M. Eden, and of course, my own Mark of Royalty.
I have read a lot more, but these were some of my top picks so far for this year.

I'd love to hear what some of your top picks are. Post them in the comment section so I can stock up on some good reading material for the holidays.

Happy reading.

Eating my Turkey a month early---NaNoWriMo

I know most of you out there are gearing up for the grueling month of November. And why is November a month to be feared? One word (or a conglomerate of words shoved together into something that makes no sense to most people, but is really fun to say)...
NaNoWriMo

In other words, National Novel Writing Month.
Yes, November is the month were most authors transform into anti-social, caffeine drinking, insomniacs. It's amazing how many authors volunteer willingly to take on this hermit-like state.
I being one of them, but I was so excited to get started that I just couldn't wait. So my turkey eating November has been moved up a month. Stephonie (sister and coauthor) and I have already done the T-minus countdown and we are ready to write.........wait for it.......drum roll...
The Sequel to Mark of Royalty!!!
So why wait till November. We are doing it a month early--our own personal version of NaNoWriMo!
50,000 words a month. (Probably more for our sequel as Mark of Royalty topped 80,000)
So.....Book In A Month?  We can do it!!!
Wish us luck!
